SPECIAL: List Of Milan’s Top Striker Targets
We bring you the names of all the players that have been linked to Milan, as one – or maybe two – of them could be the star signing Marco Fassone has promised the fans.
Aubameyang – Aubaback?
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the number one target for the Milan attack at the moment. In spite of Borussia Dortmund announcing he will not be sold this summer, the player is keen on a Milan return and has refused to sign a new contract with the German side, Sky Italia suggests.
Whilst, per la Repubblica, Milan are expected to meet Dortmund officials in the coming days and table in a new improved bid for the Gabonese striker hoping both the Bundesliga club and the striker will lower their demands. The Italians now are being mentioned as the lone suitors as the competition from Chelsea is surely off after they decided to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
Costa – Not plausible option
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte made certain that Diego Costa would be leaving Stamford Bridge this summer with a blunt text message at the end of the season saying he would no longer be needed. The striker was omitted from the pre-season tour of Asia by and it is more of a when and not if he leaves.
Milan have held talks with the English side regarding Costa, CEO Marco Fassone confirmed earlier. However, he said the Spanish international a “great player” but played down speculation that the Chelsea striker will be the marquee signing promised to the fans this summer.
In addition, even SportItalia revealed that Milan were offered Diego Costa on a 6-month loan deal, but the Serie A side have declined the offer claiming they are not interested in a short-term solution.
Ronaldo – A prohibited dream
Sky Italia‘s report of how Milan met with super agent Jorge Mendes and enquired about Cristiano Ronaldo’s availability was the news that made the headlines few days ago. The Serie A club bosses were hoping to be alerted to any situation that would see the Portugal star leave the club, though there are no negotiations over a potential deal at this point.
No matter how impossible a deal sounds, the fact that Milan is again even being linked to a player of Ronaldo’s caliber indicates that the new Chinese owners mean no other than business.
Kalinic – Come and get me
Milan have already agreed personal terms with Fiorentina’s Nikola Kalinic. However, he is not the primary target and his arrival has been put on hold for a long time now. The Croatian striker has been pushing for a San Siro move, and the Milan officials were expected to hold talks with his agent Fali Ramadani at the end of July, according to Corriere della Sera.
Nevertheless, the deal is still not totally off, but Milan are rather pursuing other targets. City rivals Inter and French side Marseille are also interested in adding the former Blackburn man to their ranks.
Belotti – Overpriced
Torino have claimed Andrea Belotti is not for sale unless someone meets his €100 million release clause. As a result, it seems that Milan have cooled down their interest in signing the Italian star, MilanNews report.
The Milanese giants have deemed Torino president Urbano Cairo’s demands as excessive and have put talks with Belotti in a stand-by, meaning that the 23-year-old striker is set to stay at the Turin club yet another season.
Falcao – Just another name
In addition to Renato Sanches, Jorge Mendes also suggested the Milan officials to consider going for Monaco’s forward Falcao.
The 31-year-old Falcao scored 30 goals in his return from the Premier League and having returned to previous form, he has managed to catch Milan’s eyes. Despite that, the Colombian is not much of a priority for the club.
Ibrahimovic – A return?
The former Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently a free agent after being released by Manchester United at the end of last season, but is still using the Premier League club’s facilities in his rehabilitation from injury.
Even though the Swede is sidelined until 2018, reports in Italy have not ruled out the possibility of him returning to Milan in January. Mediaset and Rai Sport claim he could be the top striker the Italian club are planning to get.
