Emil Forsberg Happy With Milan Interest
The Swedish revelation Forsberg would not mind a move to Italy.
Swedish international and Leipzig star, Emil Forsberg has admitted that his door is open for a move to Serie A side Milan. The Rossoneri have had their €18 million bid rejected and now Leipzig have set €30 million as their asking price for the midfielder.
The Swedish international was one of the breakthrough stars in the Bundesliga last season, helping the newly-promoted side finish second behind Bayern Munich and qualify for the Champions League.
“Milan are a great club, a big club, one of the biggest in the world. They have an interesting project in many ways. They are investing and want to take back the throne. Right now I am focused on the national team. I have had a great time in Leipzig and my agent has everything else under control”, he said in an interview for Expressen.
And although the fact that Milan only qualified for Europa League next season, he admitted that he is not concerned by that. “The Champions League is not an important factor. I care more about what role a player has in the team”, Forsberg added.
The Sundsvall youth product appeared in 30 games last season for the Red Bulls, scoring 8 and assisted 22, coming off as the player with most assists ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele. He would be a welcome addition to Milan’s roster as they are in desperate need of a creative spark from midfield.
