Coach Montella Sees New Milan Leader In Daniele De Rossi
In the previous post, there was the latest news regarding next season’s potential picture of the Rossoneri defence. Now, we are moving on to the midfield.
It seems that long-time Roma veteran Daniele De Rossi has attracted the attention of Milan, as coach Montella sees a potential leader of the group of youngsters in him, according to Sky Sports’ latest report. The Italian tactician is a long time admirer of the Italian veteran and he has already made contact to sign the experienced midfielder in June.
De Rossi and Roma find themselves at an impasse over the contract negotiations, as he looking for a three-year commitment and the Giallorossi only want to offer a one-year deal. However, despite that, it would be a difficult task to try to lure De Rossi away, as he is a club’s legend and may not be willing to move to another Italian club.
Long time target Mateo Kovacic is also an option. There is also Bayern Munich’s Arturo Vidal, who though turned out to be club’s own villain against Real Madrid, is pretty much liked by Milan’s director Massimo Mirabelli. Another Bundesliga player Luiz Gustavo, whose entourage has already had contacts with Milan, is being closely monitored.
There has been progress on that Fabregas story, as previously reported, Cesc Fabregas seems to be fond of a Milan move. In addition, both English source Daily Star and Italian Calciomercato revealed that Fabregas has a verbal agreement to join the San Siro giants in the summer.
