Brazilian Goalkeeper Gabriel Set For Milan Stay
It seems that the Brazilian dynasty won’t come to its end…
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the third-choice goalkeeper Gabriel will stay at Milan, unlike compatriots Alexandre Pato and Robinho.
Milan had reportedly decided to loan Gabriel in Serie B so as to gain experience. However, due to the non-EU rule, he is only allowed to move to a Serie A side on loan. As a result, the 20-year-old will remain with the Italian giant and wait for his chance to come.
Italian World Cup champion Marco Amelia is currently the favorite for the ‘keepers role, but is considered too inconsistent. Same goes to 35-year-old veteran Christian Abbiati, who has had few stellar performances at the beginning of the season.
Taking the current goalkeeper situation at Milan in account, Gabriel may debut in the Rossoneri jersey sooner than expected.
The former Brazil Under-20 international, who has so far featured in couple of Primavera games, joined Milan in a €500,000 deal in summer 2012.
