Juventus’ Claudio Marchisio In Sensational Milan Talks
Could Marchisio be on his way to Milan?
Reports in Italy suggest that Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio is edging closer to a Milan move, despite all claims.
According to Il Giornale, a family member has reportedly reached out the news that Marchisio is still in talks with the Rossoneri, even though Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta has denied it. The source even goes on saying that the parties are not far from reaching an agreement, as Wednesay could be a key day.
The Italy international is reportedly unhappy with his situation in Turin, with boss Massimiliano Allegri recently suggesting he was no longer indispensible, per Gazzetta dello Sport.
In addition, he is still to find top form after recovering from the knee injury that saw him miss Euro 2016 and faces tough competition for a place in the midfield, with Pjanic, Khedira and new arrival Matuidi also options. Despite an impressive pre-season spell with the Turin side, the 31-year-old was not selected for Saturday’s Supercoppa defeat to Lazio.
Marchisio, whose current contract with the Serie A champions runs until June 2020, has tallied almost 400 appearances for the club.
