Milan Favorites To Sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is again on the Milan radar.
Borussia Dortmund’s striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is once again a target for his former side Milan, after reportedly rejecting Chinese Tianjin Quanjian. The Gabon international was set to join the Chinese Super League, but he surprisingly has no intention of moving there, so they had to gave up on hopes of signing him.
As a result, Sky Italia suggests Milan are back in the race for the 26-year-old, putting talks with with Fiorentina’s Nikola Kalinic in stand-by. It is believed the Rossoneri would be willing to spend €70 million for the Dortmund star, tempting the striker with a salary of €8 million per season, double than the one he currently has in Germany.
“For the moment, we assume that Aubameyang is staying. We arranged with him that we are open for talks with other clubs, but only until a certain point of time”, Borussia’s sporting director Michael Zorc told WAZ.
Massimiliano Mirabelli is in continuous contacts with Aubameyang’s entourage to limit the distance between the offer and player’s demand of €12 million per year. The Milanese side officials will work hard this weekend in order to get his consent on the move before opening talks with Dortmund.
The two clubs are expected to meet during the China tour this month, where they could discuss a possible deal for the former Saint-Etienne man.
Aubameyang is a product of the Serie A’s giant youth academy, but he never managed to make a senior appearance for they before leaving for France in 2012 for less than €2 million.
