OFFICIAL: Conti To Milan, Pessina To Atalanta
Conti has finally been announced as a new signing.
Milan have completed the capture of Andrea Conti after the Atalanta defender passed his new club medical this week. Conti has signed a 5-year-deal with the Rossoneri for €24 million and €3 million worth Matteo Pessina, who has moved to Atalanta as part of the deal.
The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to San Siro after impressing for Atalanta last term. After such an impressive campaign, a host of players were expected to leave Bergamo and midfielder Franck Kessie has already joined Vincenzo Montella’s side.
Conti reportedly jetted back to Italy early from his holiday in Ibiza so as to sign for Milan after excelling with his country at the U21 European Championships in Poland.
“Finally I am a Milan player. I am very excited about the welcome, I hope to repay the trust the best I can. I can not find the words to describe this moment. There have been intense moments and sleepless nights, but I am happy”, he said before taking the medical test at the Milanello.
The Italian international has now become Milan’s seventh major signing this summer, and being named second most expensive Italian defender in the history, above teammate Alessio Romagnoli, but behind legend Alessandro Nesta.
