Atalanta’s Andrea Conti Wants Milan Switch
Conti is prepared go on strike for a Milan move.
Reports in Italy claim that Milan are working on a deal to get Andrea Conti, whose rapport with Atalanta seems to be over. The Italian defender has only set his eyes on joining the Rossoneri no matter what and it is believed that he has agreed a deal, with details between the two clubs yet to be discussed.
Conti’s agent Mario Giuffredi met Atalanta on Friday to try and to unblock the transfer.
“It was a calm meeting but we were clear. Andrea will not return to Bergamo and he won’t go to the pre-season training camp with Atalanta. I also think that Gasperini’s behavior is unacceptable, because Conti only wants Milan”, he told SportItalia.
“There will be a meeting next week between Atalanta and Milan. Atalanta’s President Antonio Percassi was also present at the meeting and he told me they have received another great offer, but we want the Rossoneri. The player wants Milan, as he is finished with Bergamo.”
According to Sky Italia‘s Gianluca Di Marzio, Atalanta have asked Milan to include talented midfielder Matteo Pessina in the deal, who could be joining Luca Vido and Gian Filippo Felicioli in the Nerazzurri jersey next season.
Having bagged 8 goals and 5 assists in 35 appearances to go with his defensive qualities, Conti was a pivotal part of Atalanta’s push to qualify for the Europa League, and could be a major boost for the Milan backline next season if arrives. The right-back was also linked to Chelsea, Liverpool, rivals Inter, and Napoli.
