OFFICIAL: Ricardo Rodriguez Joins Milan
The Swiss international Ricardo Rodriguez has become the Rossoneri’s third acquisition for next season.
Milan have signed left back Ricardo Rodriguez from Wolfsburg on a 4-year contract for a sum of €18 million, a club’s statement confirmed. The 24-year-old has become the third new signing this summer, joining Mateo Musacchio and Franck Kessie.
“We need players who will show a certain enthusiasm for this shirt, which is why the first thing we do after the medical is give a tour of the trophy room,” said director Massimiliano Mirabelli.
The Rossoneri teased the signing on Tuesday, sending out a tweet with the player’s initials to get fans excited when the player flew to Italy for a medical. Two days later, he was given a tour of the Casa Milan before signing his contract.

“This is where we have to come back, this is Milan’s home”, said Rodriguez when seeing a Milan shirt with the Champions League patch on it.
“I really like the Milan jersey, its very nice. I am happy to be here and play for this team. I can not wait to get to know the squad. I played at the San Siro once and I am eager to relive those feelings again. We want to do as well as we can in the Europa League, then do as well as possible in the league to return to Champions League.”
“I’ve always followed Milan, since a long time ago. Franco Baresi was a true legend in my opinion, a fantastic player. I was also very fond of Gennaro Gattuso, Paolo Maldini and Ronaldinho. This is a great team, and together we want to return to the top”, he ended.
Rodriguez has decided to wear the No. 68 on the back of his jersey, in honor of his mother.
