El Shaarawy has so far scored 15 goals in all competitions: We bring you the top 8!
If you don’t know who Stephen El Shaarawy is, it’s high time you found out. If you are a Milan, you’re in for a treat.
“Il Faraone”, his nickname because of his Egyptian descent, is just 20-years-old and is the hottest goal scorer in Serie A right now. The Italian leads the league with 13 goals and has done so in just 16 appearances.
He has single-handedly kept Milan relevant this season, and is showing no signs of slowing down. For your viewing pleasure, here is a look at Il Faraone’s best goals so far.
Udinese vs. Milan – 23 September 2012
El Shaarawy’s goal against Udinese could be the best one he’s scored so far. It was also his first of the season.
The shot was a total rocket from well outside the box that was deadly accurate. No matter how many times you watch it, it never ceases to impress. What class and what a statement for his first of the season. It was in a losing effort but a strong statement none the less.
Zenit St. Petersburg vs. Milan – 3 October 2012
Speaking of first goals, how about Il Farone’s first in the Champions League? It was quite a strike. Not just because of the accuracy, but also because of the effort he gave to open himself up for the chance.
On yet another big stage El Shaarawy came through. It was Milan’s second of the game en route to a 3-2 win.
Palermo vs. Milan – 30 October 2012
El Shaarawy’s trip to Sicily was quite the success. His side drew against Palermo, but his seventh of the season was a beauty.
After a shot was punched out by Samir Ujkani, El Shaarawy made the most of his initial touch as he fired it right back at the net. His shot was just inside the left post on its way past Ujkani.
It tied the game and secured Milan a very important point in the table.
Napoli vs. Milan – 17 November 2012
Il Farone was a one-man wrecking crew against Napoli. He had both of Milan’s goals, and they were enough to save a draw against the Partenopei in San Paolo.
His first in this game was easily the better of the two. The two in this game put his total to nine and ten on the season respectively.
Anderlecht vs. Milan – 21 November 2012
The pass into the box was remarkable. El Shaarawy’s ability to stop the ball and curl it around the keeper was world class.
Il Farone’s strike was a great one and his second in Champions League play. Not the best goal on this slideshow, but certainly worth a watch.
Catania vs. Milan – 30 November 2012 (First Goal)
Down 1-0, Milan moved in to attack. Kevin Prince-Boateng put a beautiful ball into the box. Robinho kept the ball alive and sent it over to El Shaarawy. Il Farone finished the play beautifully when he put the ball just under the crossbar and past the keeper.
It was truly miraculous and his 11th of the season. It tied the game, and was just another great goal in a long line of great goals this season.
Catania vs. Milan – 30 November 2012 (Second Goal)
Two is always better than one. Ask anyone. El Shaarawy didn’t just score two goals against Catania. He scored two goals worthy of placement on this list. If that weren’t enough, he also had an assist in the game.
His second goal was a beautiful strike that went off the right post and in. See for yourself; the keeper never had a chance on this shot. His 12th of the season may be one of his best of the season.
A n awkward fact is that all of these goals have been scored when Milan were playing away from the San Siro…
